Harshad Bharakhada is married, has a young son, and lives in Sutton Coldfield. He is an Associate Director at Grant Thornton UK LLP, a national firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors (a member firm of Grant Thornton International). He specialises in Forensic and Investigation Services and is based in Birmingham. Harshad joined the board in October 2005 through Arts and Business Board Bank.
Steve Dunne (Chair) is the Manager of the Birmingham Hotel and Catering Academy. He has wide experience of hotel management, training and development and strategic planning. He is a member of the Institute of Personnel Development. He joined the board in 1997.
Jonathan Fortnam is married with three young children and a dog and lives in Dorridge. He is a solicitor and a partner in Pinsent Masons, the international law firm. Jonathan witnessed The Play House in action whilst participating in the Birmingham Common Purpose programme in 2000 and jumped at the chance of joining its Board in 2004. His other interests include sailing, jazz music and cooking.
Liz Norman is a Barrister practicing from chambers in Birmingham. She was an advisor to the company through Business in the Arts and was a founder Board Member in 1993
Celia Reeves is Community Education teacher at Anderton Park Primary School and has worked in Balsall Heath for over twenty years. She has been associated with Language Alive! since 1986 as a member of the advisory panel and was a founder board member in 1993.

Deborah Shaw is a partner in the firm of Anthony Collins Solicitors, specialising in entertainment & leisure and more recently regulatory law, including child protection. She has had a life long interest in the theatre and has done some am dram in the past. She has two daughters who have had first hand experience of Language Alive! at primary school & who have both been involved in youth theatre. Joined December 2008
