Buried History

Themes: English, History (Anglo Saxons), SMSC

Discovered by chance by a metal detectorist, the Staffordshire Hoard is the largest cache of Anglo Saxon gold and silver ever found, but the mystery of why the treasure was buried has never been solved. Can the children solve this archaeological whodunit? As they go back in time to investigate, they examine the evidence and write their theory explaining who they think buried it and why. This programme includes a guided scheme of learning on a fully interactive digital learning platform. (Ideal for an individual school or a cluster of schools working together.)

“A wonderful history drama that has stretched the children’s imaginations and inspired them to discover more. Your skilful questioning allowed the children to deepen their thinking, share theories and predict events.” Year 3 teacher, Colmore Junior School
