The evocative Victorian Baths on the Moseley Road provide the backdrop for a brand new and exciting theatre–in-education programme.

Opened in 1907, it is the oldest of three Grade II* Listed swimming baths currently operating in Britain. Remarkably for a building now into its second century, it survives almost intact, and with very few alterations to the original layout. As such Moseley Road Baths contains many of its original features, fixtures and fittings. One of Birmingham’s finest and most treasured buildings, it contains several rare and unique features.

The Friends Of Moseley Road Baths have been collecting memories and accounts of the baths from the community, and it’s this rich history that will be used as a stimulus for a story which will take key stage two pupils on a unique journey back in time.  They will have the chance to meet characters from the past and experience history at first hand.

Originally conceived as a site-specific project, as a result of delays in the building work at the Baths Pool of Memories will now be touring to schools.

Pool of Memories is available for 2011-2012. Click here to book now!
